NIC-ex SX1: Questions
and Answers
HAT IS NIC-ex SX1?
NIC-ex SX1 is a unique scientifically engineered therapeutic anti-smoking
device clinically proven to help people stop smoking within days.
Developed after many years of research and testing, this miniature
device is the newest generation of brain electric stimulation therapy.
Electric stimulation therapy is based on the safe delivery of very
low electric current to the brain under specific pre-determined conditions
of current intensity, pulse frequency, polarity as well as duration
of therapy. Experimental and clinical trials have proven that brain
electric stimulation therapy is highly effective in treating such
conditions as sleep disorders, pain and chemical addiction. In point
of fact, the treatment of nicotine addiction (smoking) with electric
stimulation therapy was reported to be particularly rapid, safe and
effective and did not require any other form of anti-smoking support
aids. NIC-ex SX1 is the ideal device that provides the necessary
electric stimulation requirements for optimum and reliable anti-smoking
results.
HOW IS NIC-ex SX1 USED?
NIC-ex SX1 is a compact therapeutic device designed for convenient,
easy and immediate use by people of all ages without any prior experience
and training by medical personnel. The user applies small electrodes
behind each ear, simply switches on the device and adjusts the intensity
of the low energy electric stimulus to the desirable perceptible
level. On-off light indicators indicate the operational status of
the therapeutic device. The device, once set, requires no further
manipulation during the 4-day treatment period. It is worn safely,
inconspicuously and confidently, day and night, and may be removed
for a brief time during bathing. Full instructions for use and care
of the device are clearly described and illustrated in the Treatment
Booklet accompanying the complete Therapy Kit.
HOW DOES NIC-ex SX1 WORK?
NIC-ex SX1 works by electrically stimulating the brain to increase
production of two important brain natural neurochemicals, namely,
dopamine and endorphins. Nicotine increases the level of brain dopamine,
the neurochemical that stimulates the brain’s “reward
centre”. This stimulation by nicotine of this specialized “reward
centre” is responsible for the “feeling of pleasure” a
person experiences when smoking a cigarette. When a person is deprived
of a cigarette or tries to quit smoking, brain nicotine levels rapidly
and sharply decrease. This decrease, in turn, results in lowered
brain dopamine levels which causes very distressing nicotine withdrawal
symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, irritability and intense craving
for a cigarette (for nicotine). NIC-ex SX1 electrical stimulation
acts by increasing brain dopamine levels, thereby restoring and sustaining
the desired “feeling of pleasure”. The dopamine also
reduces the intensity of or prevents many of the stressful nicotine
withdrawal symptoms, particularly the craving, that drives smokers
to keep smoking. NIC-ex SX1 further increases the brain production
of the natural anti-pain neuro-chemical endorphins which act to significantly
reduce both the stress of not smoking and the pain associated with
smoking (nicotine) withdrawal.
IS THERE SCIENTIFIC PROOF THAT NIC-ex SX1 WORKS?
Many scientific experimental research and clinical studies have
been published during the past 40 years that have established the
therapeutic success of electric stimulation treatment for a number
of neurological conditions and states including chemical addiction.
In a placebo-controlled clinical study recently completed at the
University Hospital Zurich, NIC-ex SX1 proved to be a highly effective
aid in helping people quit smoking. Three months after the 4-day
treatment with NIC-ex SX1, the majority of the test persons were
still non-smokers. Twenty-seven (27) chronic smokers on NIC-ex SX1
therapy, out of a total of 64 smokers, quit smoking almost immediately
for the 6-month duration of the study, representing a success rate
of 42%! The success rate in the NIC-ex SX1 group was higher than
that seen in the placebo control group at all time periods recorded.
The NIC-ex SX1 subjects reported significantly less frequent and
less severe nicotine withdrawal symptoms such as insomnia, anger,
anxiety, hunger and, most importantly, less craving for cigarettes.
This 42% 6-month success rate of the NIC-ex SX1 therapy was higher,
in all instances, compared to that reported by the use of other smoking
cessation methods as nicotine replacement (patch, 12-14%; gum, 17-19%)
and the antidepressant ZYBAN (21-35%) at the same 6-month recorded
time period.
HOW SAFE IS NIC-ex SX1?
NIC-ex SX1 is completely safe and free of any short-term and long-term
adverse side effects that commonly occur with nicotine replacement
and antidepressant smoking cessation treatments. NIC-ex SX1 is a
very easy, drug-free, user-friendly device. The user feels, and only
occasionally, a very slight but soothing tingling sensation during
the treatment period. The device was awarded the CE (Conformité Européenne)
Mark that appears on the product indicating that the device has met
all safety standards that apply to all countries of the European
Union (EU), is in compliance with all safety requirements of the
International European Community (IEC) as well as signatory States
of the European Economic Area (EEA). An independent Swiss quality
control testing laboratory also has verified that NIC-ex SX1 meets
all safety standards required for such products.
